A few of those categories include Express Carrier of the Year, Produce Carrier of the Year, Rising Star Carrier of the Year and Innovative Carrier of the Year. Carriers were recognized and awarded for criteria including revenue/growth, ease of doing business, communication, flexibility, customer service and follow-up/correction of errors.

Wal-Mart wants to recruit and retain truck drivers. Drivers are home every weekend. Requirements include having a CDL Class A drivers license for 3 months, verifiable first seat experience in the last year, or 12 months experience in the last 3 years. Drivers must have experience hauling 45’ and longer flatbeds or trailers.

Wal-Mart also requires that drivers have

·         No DUI’s or related incidents in the last 5 years

·         No felonies in the last 5 years

·         No drug or violent related felonies ever

·         No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years

·         No more than 2 accidents in the last 2 years

Wal-Mart is looking for permanent placement of drivers.
