Managed server solution allows distribution firm to reduce costs, improve efficiencies

Toronto, ON - November 27, 2002 - Q9 Networks Inc., the leading Canadian provider of managed Internet infrastructure and Web hosting services, is pleased to announce it has been selected by Unisource (www.unisource.ca), Canada's largest distributor of printing, imaging, packaging and maintenance supplies, to host a new Web-based order entry system. The site will allow customers to order more than 30,000 items online while helping Unisource reduce costs by linking to back-office and warehouse systems.

Services provided by Q9 include managed servers, bandwidth and tape back-up. Bandwidth is provided through Q9's unique network, which is extensively connected to multiple Internet backbones and backed by an industry leading, 100 percent uptime guarantee.

"We've gone from a static Web site to a fully functional, browser-based order entry system that will eventually be used by more than 500 of our key customers," says Kim Cordell, Director, IT Support Services, Unisource Canada. "High reliability is key for this initiative. We selected Q9 as our hosting partner because of their sole focus on Internet infrastructure, their sophisticated suite of managed services and their highly proactive customer service."

Q9 delivers unparalleled service through an extensive suite of customer care products, including a web-based portal that provides complete visibility into customer equipment and Q9 services. All Q9 and customer systems are monitored from the Q9 Networks Operations Centre (NOC) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. NOC experts are also available to customers on an around-the-clock basis to resolve issues and provide advice.

"Q9's fully managed hosting solutions allow companies like Unisource to realize the efficiencies of the Web, without having to add or redeploy resources," says Osama Arafat, CEO, Q9 Networks. "And with our guaranteed installation time of 24 to 48 hours, time to market is greatly reduced."

Q9's sole focus on Internet infrastructure allows it to hire, train and retain highly qualified experts in Internet-specific disciplines. Key services are backed with service level agreement (SLA) guarantees for installation time and problem identification and response. These factors enable customers to outsource mission-critical systems to Q9 with complete confidence.
