Tyson Product Nabs International Prize
Tyson Foods has been named the winner in the Poultry, Meat, Seafood, and Eggs category for the 2004 North American Foodservice Grand Prix New Product Awards — the first time the awards have been distributed. Tyson claimed the prize with its ready-to-cook “Crossfires GrillMarked Chicken Breast Fillet.”
The competition, which is a joint effort of the Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors and the International Foodservice Distributors Association, recognizes new products of exceptional value to operators and consumers.
To become a finalist in one of the 11 categories in the Foodservice Grand Prix, an entry has to score a 70 or higher by a 12-member jury of chefs, operators, distributor personnel, and operator trade media. Products were judged in four areas: uniqueness and innovation, operator convenience, product attributes, and quality and appeal.
