Reyes Holdings Hires Determine Software

San Francisco, CA - July 15, 2003 - Determine Software®, a leading provider of Contract Performance Management (CPM) solutions for Global 2000 companies, today announced that Reyes Holdings LLC, a global provider of food and beverage distribution services for restaurant chains like McDonalds and brewers such as Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing Company, purchased the Determine Software Application Suite to manage the contract portfolio for its trucking fleet and capital equipment, and, having successfully implemented the solution in just four weeks, has already begun to realize significant benefits. Reyes Holdings is a $4 billion holding company that distributes products throughout North, Central and South American through its subsidiary companies. The company operates more than 33 distribution centers in the U.S. and six other countries. Since deploying the Determine Software application in early 2003, Reyes Holdings has achieved cost savings in planning for end-of-life, renewal and residual value decisions related to its truck and capital equipment contracts. Previously, the company was subject to penalty fees because it lacked detailed visibility into its supplier terms and obligations. Reyes Holdings will also be using the Determine Software CrossLink Desktop Connectors to allow distributed fleet managers to utilize Microsoft Excel as a means of easily inputting current odometer readings from its truck fleet. This will allow the company to avoid excessive wear-and-tear penalties and mileage overage fees by optimizing mileage usage and transportation routes against contract terms. Finally, with the Determine Software application, Reyes Holdings has reduced billing errors and monthly bulk invoice mailings by making real-time contract payment information available to its holding companies via the Internet.

"We implemented Determine Software within four weeks and shortly thereafter we experienced operational savings and improved business efficiency in our contract management process," said Dan Doheny, CFO of Reyes Holdings. "The tracking and notification alerts have been particularly important in helping us efficiently manage our contract obligations."

With Determine Software, visibility into the contracting lifecycle has improved significantly at several levels within Reyes Holdings. Accounting and finance professionals within each of the eighteen distribution centers can now see across the company's contract activities, quickly accessing relevant contracts, reconciling bills and invoices online, and automatically maintaining accurate and detailed audit controls. Executives can access a summary view of overall contract activities, including cash flow analyses and reports on supplier and partner performance. This high-level view of information gives executives what they need to monitor contract compliance and identify cost-savings opportunities while assessing the productivity of key business relationships.

"As the volume, complexity and strategic importance of contracts increases, a company's ability to maintain cross-enterprise visibility becomes more difficult and more important," said Scott Martin, CEO of Determine Software. "Whether it is fleet and capital asset contracts or other complex contracts such as services procurement, real estate or strategic partner agreements, we are focused on helping customers transform their contracts into actionable information and processes for optimizing trading partner relationships."
