SAN ANTONIO—It's a Texas-size partnership between two Texas champions—San Antonio Spurs player Tim Duncan and H-E-B. In an exclusive three-year deal, Duncan will appear in H-E-B radio and television advertisements, which are scheduled to begin running Wednesday, November 12. The spots will run in various South Texas markets including San Antonio, Harlingen, McAllen, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Austin and Waco.

"I've always admired H-E-B's commitment to the community and hands-on involvement," said Duncan. "I have a great deal of respect for the company and confidence in the H-E-B brand. I'm excited to join the H-E-B team and look forward to developing a meaningful partnership."

"As an athlete and private citizen, Tim Duncan captures H-E-B's corporate spirit. He's the best in his field, is a team player, gives back to his community and is modest about his accomplishments," said Winell Herron, H-E-B Group Vice President of Public Affairs and Diversity. "We believe that this partnership is a great fit for H-E-B and Tim, and are honored to have him join the H-E-B Team."

About Tim Duncan

Tim Duncan is one of the world's premiere basketball stars and helped the San Antonio Spurs win their second title as the 2003 NBA Champions. He is the recipient of the 2002 and 2003 NBA Most Valuable Player Award, and is only the second player in NBA history to be named to both an All-NBA Team and an All-Defensive Team in each of his first six seasons. He was selected with the first pick of the 1997 NBA Draft and was named NBA Rookie of the Year and 1999 NBA Finals MVP after winning his first NBA Championship with the San Antonio Spurs.

Duncan also believes in giving back to his community and in 2001 created the Tim Duncan Foundation. The Foundation funds nonprofit organizations in the areas of education; youth sports and recreation; and health awareness and research, particularly focused on breast and prostate cancer. To date, the Tim Duncan Foundation has raised and donated more than $500,000 to support its mission of assisting nonprofit organizations and programs in South Texas, US Virgin Islands, and in North Carolina.
