Foster Farms: Family Values
Foster Farms has been a family owned and operated business since its inception
in 1939. Four generations later, the company still belongs to the Foster family,
though it has grown to employ over 10,000 people throughout the Pacific Northwest.
With a focus on local farming and distribution, Foster Farms is careful to deliver
fresh, healthy products. Though Foster Farms can offer the experience, opportunities,
and stability of a large organization, it is still run like a family farm with
a pleasant, personalized work environment.
The work environment at Foster Farms is both congenial and competitive. Employees
challenge one another to create and deliver a quality product. Still a family-owned
company, Foster Farms has grown from one small turkey farm into a huge company
with distribution centers in California, Washington, Colorado, Arkansas, and
Alabama. The Foster Farms line of products is sold around the world. Despite
this competitive and opportunistic atmosphere, Foster Farms is a family-oriented
company, recognizing the importance of home time and community values.
The Transportation and Logistics Department is responsible for warehousing
and transportation within Foster Farms. Its extensive distribution network makes
Foster Farms one of the largest private carriers in the United States. The Transportation
department works closely with product management and customer service so Foster
Farm products are deliveries are made complete, fresh, and on time.
