C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. Announces Support To Community Organizations
Brattleboro, VT: March 29, 2004 - C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. today announced support to several nonprofit organizations.
"It's noteworthy," said Gina Goff, Director of Corporate Giving, "that this latest round of donations and sponsorships from C&S happen to be targeted to our headquarter communities of Brattleboro Vermont and Keene New Hampshire. While we support all of our communities, there's a special focus on helping organizations located at our headquarters that do important work to improve people's lives and quality of life."
Recipients of C&S contributions and event sponsorships include:
Stonewall Farm, Keene, NH
Support for three initiatives to prevent hunger: Grow an Acre for Hunger, Community Garden Plots, and Produce for People. These three programs involve collaborations between the farm, volunteers, and several other nonprofit groups including the Keene Community Kitchen.
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, Brattleboro, VT
Support for the Annual Fund to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment, and sponsorship of the hospital's Clambake and Auction. Both commitments are made in honor of the hospital's 100th anniversary year of service to the community.
Strolling of the Heifers, Brattleboro, VT
Sponsorship of the free "Family Entertainment Tent" at the June 6, 2004 Dairy Fest and Marketplace. Strolling of the Heifers is a free, community-wide event that attracts over 20,000 people.
Brattleboro Music Center, Brattleboro, VT
Sponsorship of the spring "Carnival of the Animals" children's concert, part of the Music and Art in the Schools program, and offered for free to thousands of schoolchildren in Brattleboro and ten other surrounding communities.
Center Stage Cheshire County, Keene, NH
Sponsorship pledged for the four family-oriented events planned over the course of the year, including: ArtWalk, Pumpkin Fest, Tree Lighting, and a New Year's Eve celebration. Collectively, over 80,000 people will participate in these events which are offered for free.
Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, Brattleboro, VT
Sponsorship of the region's single largest cultural event in celebration of Independence Day: Music and Fireworks Under the Stars, which includes a Pops concert by the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
