Bunzl names General Manager of the Year for 2004

3/1/2005 - Ron Turner received the General Manager of the Year for 2004 last week at the National Managers' Meeting, presented by Pat Larmon, President & CEO of Bunzl Outsourcing Services North America. The award is Bunzl's most prestigious award recognizing the General Manager whose branch achieves the highest standards in critical areas of performance against budget, as well as improvement over the previous year.
Ron began his career with Bunzl in May 1984 as the Director of Purchasing and Marketing in the New York branch. Ron was promoted to General Manager of Bunzl New York in August 1994. Under Ron's leadership in 2004, Bunzl New York increased sales and gross margin while imporving efficiency. As a result, the branch's profit increased substantially. At the same time, the branch met its working capital goals for the year. He did a remarkable job in one of the toughest markets in the country and was assisted by the teamwork and dedication of the employees at the branch.
Upon acceptance of the award, Ron acknowledged the contributions of John Henry Flerx, his Assistant General Manager, and all the branch's dedicated employees. He also acknowledged his wife Judy, Dave Rivere, Regional Vice President and Mark Brasher, President, Eastern Division. Ron stated, "I am honored to receive this award, and look forward to a great year in 2005".
