OAKWOOD, Ga. (April 18, 2005) – Wayne Farms LLC, the nation’s sixth largest poultry processor, continues to build on its tradition of partner-focused business solutions with the launch of IntroSpec.  IntroSpec is Wayne Farms’ comprehensive leadership position in procurement, designed to inspect and certify the safety and security of products for feed mills and field operations of Wayne Farms LLC. This, in turn, encourages continuous improvement of controls and standards in production.

The IntroSpec program combines intensive analysis, inspection and testing processes to ensure the safety and security of vendors who do business with the company.  Vendors that supply feed ingredients and live production supplies must go through the IntroSpec program to be approved and certified.

“IntroSpec goes beyond assuring compliance with safety, efficacy, quality, economics, sanitation and regulatory requirements,” said Tom Wilson, Nutrition and Purchasing Manager, Wayne Farms LLC.

Gary Niedfeldt, Vice President of Purchasing, added,  “It provides peace of mind for our customers that the poultry they are getting was raised and processed through quality systems.”

Vendors in the IntroSpec program have undergone a detailed certification process including on-site inspections and/or testing.

The IntroSpec program is one example of Wayne Farms LLC’s commitment to proactive, value-added, quality products and outstanding service.  In the past year, Wayne Farms LLC has introduced the Intelliship® logistics management program; the company also has announced that all of its 13 plants have passed the NFPA-SAFE® auditing program.  The IntroSpec initiative continues upon that tradition and works to ensure that Wayne Farms’ customers receive the best in quality and value, from farm to fork.
