Perdue helps Georgetown, Del. community build new library
Perdue Farms has donated $30,000 to help the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library build a new library in Georgetown, Del. The donation will help the library better serve the areas growing population, including the Hispanic community.
The larger facility will enable librarians to plan programs around the needs and interests of the community. Plans are underway to provide Georgetowns Hispanic community with English language tapes and instructions provided by volunteers from the Friends of the Georgetown Library. Members of the English-speaking community will also be able to use language tapes to study Spanish. A study room will bear the name of Perdue Farms, a name familiar to many of many of the communitys Hispanic members who work at the companys Georgetown food plant.
Perdue also supports home ownership and adult literacy programs

Finanzas allows workers to receive comprehensive financial counseling at their workplace during work hours, with no loss in pay. Classes are offered in Spanish and English at Perdues Georgetown plant.
